truitt blew it.

He Raised his pay and Our Taxes.

On December 7, 2023, Truitt voted to raise Dutchess County’s sales tax and gave himself and his colleagues massive 55–81% pay hikes — all on the same day.¹ Instead of protecting taxpayers, Truitt cashed in.

He Wasted Millions.

In December 2022, Truitt voted to pour $25 million — including federal COVID relief funds — into upgrades for a minor league baseball stadium,² while families struggled with rising costs, housing, and an EMS system in crisis. Truitt voted to spend 2X more on a baseball stadium than on fixing our housing crisis.³

He Saddled Us with Debt.

Back in 2016, Truitt voted to fund the $274 million Dutchess County Justice & Transition Center, the most expensive project in county history. Taxpayers will be paying for it for decades.⁴

The bottom line: Truitt’s record shows he’s more interested in helping himself than helping us.
